A century of history dedicated to wine

The origins of the winery

The Nino Franco Spumanti winery is a historic winery with 100 years of life lived 1919-2019 and with a high level of attention and continuous search for quality.

The company is located in Valdobbiadene, a small town north of Venice, where Glera, the grape used to produce Prosecco, has always been grown. It is a family-run business and as they call themselves they are a family of "craftsmen" of Prosecco.

The hills of Conegliano Valdobbiadene were recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in July 2019, making the celebrations of the first century of the winery's history even more important.

The company is now in its fourth generation, was founded by his grandfather Antonio in 1919, later managed by his son Nino and now by his grandson Primo Franco, who with his wife Annalisa and daughter Silvia continue this long winemaking tradition.

In the last 20 years the company has focused mainly on improving the quality of its wines, efforts that are now regularly rewarded by the countless Italian and international awards that the wines of the winery manages to win.

The vineyards of the excellence of Prosecco

The wines of Nino Franco Spumanti today come from small plots and from a careful study and continuous search for quality in the wine industry with the aim and obviously the desire to demonstrate the different expressions that Prosecco can offer.

The company owns 3 different vineyards that represent the excellence of Prosecco.

Riva San Floriano

In this vineyard, whose name RIVA means very steep vineyard, the grapes have always been grown and it is located on a small promontory overlooking the main square of the village of Valdobbiadene.

From this vineyard comes the grapes of Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG Brut Vigneto della Riva di S. Floriano, a wine awarded the gold medal in the prestigious competition Champagne and Sparkling Wine World Championships 2019.

Grave Di Stecca

From the hill of the vineyard of SAN FLORIANO you can see the vineyard of GRAVE DI STECCA an extraordinary and fascinating place, is a small CLOS (French term for a fine vineyard surrounded by a wall, a nickname used in particular in Burgundy) with a particular microclimate. In 1992, the family planted its first vineyard from a selection of wood from old vineyards.

Grave Di Stecca Valdobbiadene Spumante Brut is produced from the grapes of this vineyard and is considered one of the 10 best sparkling wines of Valdobbiadene by a recent review by Decanter.

NODI

The NODI is a small vineyard also called COL DEL VENT that wants to remember with its name the wind speed but also the typical knots of the plants of the Glera. This vineyard is home to centuries-old plants, silent witnesses of the long history of Prosecco.

From the grapes of this vineyard is produced the Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG Brut Nodi another shining star of the winery, a wine also awarded the gold medal in the prestigious competition Champagne and Sparkling Wine World Championships 2019.

The winery's welcome

The desire to create only the best in the wine sector also means being able to share the efforts and results obtained with all those who love to experience the beauty of the vineyards and the excellent wines they produce.

Annalisa, Primo Franco's wife, today deals mainly with this aspect and that is the welcome and conviviality that the winery offers through a prestigious relais the "Villa Barberina", a period residence located in Valdobbiadene that the Franco family acquired in 2004 and renovated making it an enchanting place to stay surrounded by greenery and surrounded by trees.
