Details

The CAGI Cantina Giubiasco is a company that was founded in 1929 and that vinifies the grapes of more than 350 winemakers in Ticino.

In recent years the winery has significantly improved the quality of its wines by enhancing old hillside vineyards in the Bellinzona area and its surroundings.

The Merlot is certainly the vine symbol of the cellar with which it creates unique and appreciated wines.

In order to best honor the quality of the Merlot vine cultivated in the district of Locarno, the Cantina of Giubiasco proposes a new Ticino red wine, the Merlot del Locarnese Ticino DOC a real tribute to the winemakers and consumers of the Lake Maggiore region.

Selecting the grapes of four faithful and representative suppliers of grapes from the district of Locarno: Gabriele and Renzo Calzascia, Manuele Martella, Peppino Maggini and Werner Biral for the first time with the 2016 harvest produced a wine in the image of the territory.

Vinified with the traditional method followed by a short maceration, it is aged for twelve months, part in barriques and the rest in steel, a further maturation in bottle of six months gives it the typical characteristics of the vine.
