CAGI Cantina Giubiasco 100 anni di Merlot Bianco Barricato Ticino DOC 2016

The CAGI Cantina Giubiasco is a company that was founded in 1929 and that vinifies the grapes of more than 350 winemakers in Ticino. 

In recent years the winery has significantly improved the quality of its wines by enhancing old hillside vineyards in the Bellinzona area and its surroundings. 

 The Merlot is certainly the vine symbol of the cellar with which it creates unique and appreciated wines.

The 100 Anni di Merlot Bianco Ticino DOC of the Cantina di Giubiasco is a barricaded wine designed and created to celebrate the Merlot of Ticino.

It is not difficult to guess that white Merlot is produced with the must of Merlot grapes, but what makes it different from the traditional red is also the production procedure.

If a red Merlot like that of CAGI is fermented in vats and subsequently refined in barrels, the white Merlot is vinified directly in barriques and then refined for 3 months. This allows to obtain a fresh and light wine, with a fruity taste, that tickles the palate with elegance.

The CAGI Cantina di Giubiasco is a point of reference for the Swiss and Ticino wine production. But this amazing wine, the 100 Years of Merlot Bianco Barricato by CAGI is also appreciated internationally, succeeding in winning a gold medal at the world of Merlot in 2017 with the 2015 vintage and confirming a wine loved by fans all over Europe.
