Nino Franco Grave Di Stecca Valdobbiadene Spumante Brut 2013

Nino Franco Spumanti s.r.l.

Quick Overview

The Nino Franco Grave Di Stecca Valdobbiadene Spumante Brut 2013 of the Nino Franco Spumanti winery is considered among the 10 best sparkling wines of Valdobbiadene by Decanter.

Its 100% Glera grapes are born from the vineyard from which it takes its name Grave di Stecca always in Valdobbiadene. A small vineyard enclosed by a wall, also called Clos, with a favorable microclimate that can give this sparkling wine compelling organoleptic characteristics

Bright yellow in colour, with an intense perfume and a dry but creamy flavour, it will delight the taste buds of those who want to taste and appreciate it, just as Michaela Morris international wine writer did for Decanter Premium.

Details

The Nino Franco Spumanti winery is a historic winery with 100 years of life lived 1919-2019 and with a high level of attention and continuous search for quality.

The company is located in Valdobbiadene, a small town north of Venice, where Glera, the grape used to produce Prosecco, has always been grown. It is a family-run business and as they call themselves they are a family of "craftsmen" of Prosecco.

The hills of Conegliano Valdobbiadene were recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in July 2019.

The wines of the winery have won countless prestigious international awards and are regularly cited by authoritative sources in the sector:

The vinification technique of Nino Franco Grave Di Stecca Valdobbiadene Spumante Brut takes place with the second fermentation in autoclave and with the Charmat method.

Organoleptic characteristics

Colour It has a brilliant straw yellow colour and splendid, lively bubbles and sweet mobility.
Nose Its perfume is reminiscent of ripe fruit with notes of sage and aromatic herbs, remarkable notes of mines and flint.
Taste The taste is creamy but also dry. Its finish with a touch of toasted almond is silky and pleasantly persistent.
Food pairing A splendid wine because it can be matched to every event from the aperitif as well as to the whole meal. It is simply sublime when paired with seafood and the renowned fish & chips, perfect with ham.
