Barolo and Barbaresco, from the heart of Piedmont

Every month in our blog we travel the streets of lands of great wines. It is therefore a necessary (and very pleasant) stop in Piedmont, home of two of the most famous and renowned wine products in the Italian landscape: Barolo and Barbaresco. Two wines produced by Nebbiolo in purity cultivated in the famous region of the Langhe, the first intense, decisive and sometimes rough, the second more elegant, delicate and preferred by the female audience. Always in search of the best products available on the European market, for our customers we have selected a producer that more than others has been able to excite us.

A novelty in our cellar

Our journey in search of great Barolo and Barbaresco led us to the border between Langhe and Monferrato, where we met the Cantina Tre Donne of Neive, in the province of Cuneo. Born into a family that has its roots in wine production back in 1850, the winery is now run by Rosanna, Daniela and Antonella, heirs to an important legacy of wine production that guard and innovate with their husbands.

Our choice of Barolo and Barbaresco

A high expression of Piedmontese excellence that we have been able to appreciate is the Barolo DOCG Donna Clotilde, an important red wine with a character that loves ageing and that best expresses its solid structure on the palate when accompanied by red meat.

For those looking for moderate acidity, great tannins and an elegant balance, our advice is to try the Barbaresco DOCG Donna Milia.

 A wide and varied offer

Certainly if you want to deepen your knowledge of Piedmontese wine production, Barolo and Barbaresco are among the first wines to be discovered: however, our wide selection of products from this region is able to offer even the most expert food for thought and novelties that can bewitch you.

In our section dedicated to Piedmontese wines you can find a wide selection of DOC and DOCG that include selections of Barbera d'Alba and Barbera d'Asti, Nebbiolo d'Alba, Roero, Dolcetto delle Langhe and Dolcetto d'Alba. There are also great whites, such as Gavi di Gavi DOCG and Roero Arneis DOCG, also produced by Cantina Tre Donne.
